Christmas centerpieces

We have a fairly long dining room table so one of my favorite things to do in preparation for the holidays is make my centerpieces. They stay somewhat similar but I might change my color scheme depending on the season. This time I went with very neutral tones. I used cream and burnt hydrangea (one of my favorite flowers), cream roses, and long stems with feathers. I’m really liking feathers lately. This weekend Hobby Lobby was having 50% off all their floral, so I took advantage.

Here is a step by step of how I put them together.

I first cleaned out my vases

I then started stuffing my vases with a filler. I chose pinecones. Tip: you can also use scented ones.

I clipped all the leaves from their stems so I could apply them at a later time.

Arrange the flowers as you like in the vase

Voila!

Hope ya'll like these how-to tips. Lemmie know. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Autumn’s mural

First of all.. no, I’m not a professional. Obviously. I do however love to paint. So needless to say my sister takes advantage of me! No, in all seriousness I enjoy it …so I thought I would present to you a little something I’ve done recently AND a short tutorial that I thought ya’ll would appreciate.

I’ve done a little more work on her room since these pictures have been taken. Autumn wanted Rapunzel in the tower and some clouds and things. Anyway, you get the main idea…

I wanted to show you how very simple it is to make these flowers if ya ever get a hankerin’ to try anything like this on your own.

You will need to turn off the sound to my Christmas music in order to hear the video. It’s pretty quiet because my sister and I were videoing after the kiddos had gone to sleep.

P.s. this is my first how-to video so no laughing!!
