The test said YES!
Okay, we planned for Melinda to take a pregnancy test on Sunday morning, so I was anxious for the Lord's day to arrive. At about 6:45am, I woke up. I started tossing and turning in bed, hoping to "accidentally" wake Melinda up. When I heard her start to move, I asked, "Do you have to pee?" She grumbled something about wanting to sleep some more...I couldn't make it all out. It sounded kind of like bear's growl. Anyways, I left her in bed and went out on my morning run. With each stride I prayed so hard for God to make the test come out positive. The lights were on when I came in, so I knew that she had taken the test. She handed it to me, and I started to get disappointed. But then, she pointed out the second line on the test. Oh man, we both started to get excited! I said, "What does this mean?! Google images! Google images!" I wanted Melinda to find us some visual confirmation, since the second line looked a little faint. Yes, you can find a picture of a positive pregnancy test on Google. Ever skeptical, I then told her to get ready for church quickly so we could stop by her sister's (Regina) house and have her look at it (she's had two kids after all, so she knows what these positive tests look like). The craziness in me suggested that we have Regina take a test, so we could compare Melinda's to a definite negative. I know, I was getting a little spastic. We showed Regina, and she reminded us that the second line wouldn't show up unless the "pregnancy" hormone was present inside of Melinda. So...WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!! Melinda's taste buds and hormones are already starting to change. She goes to her OBGYN in a couple of weeks for official confirmation.
Blessings, folks!!!
