Journey to Bethlehem Commercial

Every December, our church puts on an outdoor drama titled, Journey to Bethlehem. In JTB, visitors travel with a guide family from Nazareth to Bethlehem to register for the census. On the way to Bethlehem, the "family" encounters shepherds, angels, and wise men, and they are told that the Messiah has been born. After registering for the census in Bethlehem, the family finds this Messiah lying in a manger with His parents, Mary and Joseph.

Melinda and I are a guide couple for this production that requires the work of hundreds of people. It's tons of fun! The program has grown by leaps and bounds, and last year's visitor count came close to 4,000. Considering the fact that we put this program on for only three nights, that's pretty awesome!

This year, we are expecting even more guests, which means we need more workers. In order to encourage more people in the church to volunteer, the brilliant production team at Racine Christian Church came up with a great idea for a commercial to play in front of the congregation. Thanks to Scott, Judy, Joe, and Darrin for putting this together and making us horrible actors look like we know what we're doing! This is the commercial that aired last Sunday:

If anyone out there in blog-land will be in SW Missouri during the first weekend of December (1st-3rd; Thur-Sat), come on out to Racine Christian Church for a free show about the true meaning of Christmas.

God bless
